General Guidelines

Only the official representative of the member institution, designated by the institution's authorities, will be able to nominate him or herself for the available board positions. Honorary members cannot nominate candidates.

The member institution must be up-to-date on their membership dues up to 2007. The list of ISTEC members eligible to vote may be accessed at: www.istec.org/election/index.php The list is updated daily. In case of doubts regarding your institution's payment status, please contact Miriam Lobaina at mlobaina@istec.org.

Potential candidates should read the profile of the ISTEC Board Members. It is expected that the elected members will participate actively in the search of external funding opportunities through foundations or public organizations that support projects on ISTEC Initiatives.

Nominations must be received by midnight on June 16th, 2008 (Albuquerque time).

All nominations that meet these guidelines will be submitted to the Election Committee for review. Accepted candidates will then be contacted and included in the election ballot.

To be nominated in the academic member category, potential candidates must comply with the general guidelines. In addition, they should fill and sign the Academic Nomination Form, and also attach a brief biography (no more than 350 words, please emphasize prior related experiences).

The form and small bio should be sent to the attention of Virginia Bird - Secretary of the ISTEC BOD by midnight on June 16th, 2008;

Industrial Members Category

To be nominated in the industrial member category, potential candidates must comply with the general guidelines, and should belong to a full industrial member institution. In case of doubts regarding your institution's membership status, please contact Aaron Turkle at aturkle@istec.org

Potential candidates for the distinguished individuals category may only be nominated by current members of the ISTEC Board of Directors.
