Convocatoria para Ponencias V Simposio Internacional de Bibliotecas Digitales (SIBD) Málaga, 2008 El V SIBD recoge la experiencia de las anteriores versiones realizadas en Brasil y España organizadas por ISTEC y Universidades miembro que han servido de sede. El Simposio pretende ser un foro donde se debatan las últimas novedades de servicios y productos de información en bibliotecas digitales. Se considera que toda persona, sin información y sin documentación está destinada a mantenerse fuera de las condiciones mínimas de bienestar, desarrollo cultural y por ende del progreso económico de un país, siendo necesario que el ciudadano esté involucrado con el conocimiento a fin de que sea beneficiado con oportunidades de participación e igualdad de acceso al saber. Las bibliotecas digitales han asumido, en este sentido, un papel cada vez más preponderante y protagónico, participando con su accionar de manera decidida en los procesos de transformación del individuo, vinculándolo cada vez más con sus pares y ofreciéndole el acceso al mundo globalizado. Objetivo General Crear un espacio de intercambio de experiencias y saberes de los actores y elementos inmersos en los nuevos servicios de las bibliotecas digitales. Objetivos Específicos • Conocer los nuevos productos y servicios de la biblioteca digital. • Fortalecer las relaciones interinstitucionales que promuevan la cooperación y el trabajo en redes mancomunadas en los servicios bibliotecarios. • Promover la investigación para la generación e intercambio de conocimiento. • Promover y apoyar la producción científica en acceso abierto. Call for Papers V International Symposium on Digital Libraries Malaga, 2008 The V International Symposium on Digital Libraries (SIBD) gathers the experience of previous versions organized by ISTEC and member Universities that have hosted the event in Brazil and Spain. The Symposium intends to be a forum to discuss the latest innovations in services and products for digital libraries. It is considered that all persons without access to information are deprived of one of the most basic conditions of well-being and cultural progress, which as a result hinders the economic growth of a country. Thus, it is important and necessary for all citizens to have equal access to knowledge, so they can actively participate in the new information society. In this sense, the digital libraries have gained increased importance and have assumed a leading and preponderant role in the individual transformation, relating people with their peers and giving them access to a globalized world. General Objective Create a forum where knowledge and experience of the people and elements involved in the new digital library services can be exchanged. Specific Objectives • Present the innovations in services and products for digital libraries • Strengthen the relationships between institutions to promote cooperation and the creation of networks in library services. • Promote research to generate and exchange knowledge. • Promote and support the scientific production in open access.
