Top 2008 Ibero-American Student Projects

The II Ibero-American Student Contest (CONIBES) was extremely successful with students from over 25 universities located in 10 different countries of the Americas and the Iberian Peninsula presenting projects. The top three projects, as placed by our panel of judges, received an HP Tablet PC. The main goal of CONIBES was to inspire original innovation in sustainable technologies. |

Top 2008 Sun Microsystems Student Projects |
| |
Students participating in the Ibero-American Student Contest were also eligible for the Sun Microsystems track. To compete in this track students had to present a project in either Control and Robotics or Development of Software and Hardware. The second stipulation was that students use an open source program developed by Sun Microsystems such as Netbeans, Java, or Solaris. The top projects in this track received a Sun Ultra Workstation.
The goal for this track was to inspire development in robotic and software technologies to solve problems in local industries or communities that would generate social and economic benefits. |
