Latin America, the Caribbean and the United States (LCE) Chapter
Students from the Caribbean and North and South America may participate in this chapter.
The students that are interested should send their fully filled registration form to info@istec.org and should also send their projects electronically using the online system proposals.istec.org/conibes before the due date.
The elected projects should be presented in oral and poster format on August 14 and 15 2008 during the "Ibero-American Colloquium for Innovations in Sustainable Development" / "Jornadas Iberoamericanas de Innovaciones para el Desarrollo Sustentable".
The University of Guayaquil will sponsor the lodging in Guayaquil (one student per project) for the international students and students that come from other cities of Ecuador that are part of a member of ISTEC during the Qualifying Round of this chapter.
It is important to take note that only the projects that participate attending the "Ibero-American Colloquium for Innovations in Sustainable Development" / "Jornadas Iberoamericanas de Innovaciones para el Desarrollo Sustentable" will be considered for the election of the best projects entering the finals representing the chapter.
The top 5 projects of LCE Chapter will receive a scholarship, covering the transportation costs of one student per project to participate in the finals.
The students selected for the finals and that are part of an institution member of the ISTEC, will additionally receive a scholarship that will cover the lodging and meals.
Iberian Chapter
Students from Spain and Portugal may participate in this chapter.
The students that are interested must send their fully filled registration form to info@istec.org and should send their projects electronically using the online system Proposals.istec.org/conibes before the due date.
It is important to take note that the students of the Iberian Chapter will NOT have to travel to the University of Guayaquil for the eliminations that will take place there; nevertheless It is expected that they travel to the finals with the partial or complete support of some of our sponsors. There they must present their projects in oral and poster format to the juries during the finals.
The same criteria for evaluation and classification will be used to select the finalists of both regions.

The best projects of each chapter will compete with their respective opponents during the finals
The students must present their projects in poster format and make an oral presentation to the jury. Additionally, they may include other assisting material or equipment such as models, videos and/or prototypes.
