Hello Students! The Global Student Design Contest (GSDC) is an international event organized by ISTEC (www.istec.org), SPEED (www.worldspeed.org), and IFEES (www.ifees.org). Winning projects will be presented by students at the World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF), to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Oct 15-18, 2012. In addition to funding for accommodations and airfare, each industrial sponsor may determine any additional prizes for the winning team(s) under each specific Student Challenge. Como parte de las actividades de la Rama Puebla de la IEEE en INAOE, la Coordinación de Electrónica de INAOE organiza el Tercer Seminario en Nanoelectrónica y Diseño Avanzado 2011. Su objetivo es difundir los últimos avances relacionados con la nanoelectrónica y el diseño de circuitos electrónicos, ofreciendo un foro de discusión tanto para estudiantes de licenciatura, maestría y doctorado como para investigadores en Ingeniería Electrónica y áreas afines.
El programa del Seminario se compone de conferencias impartidas por especialistas de reconocido prestigio provenientes de diversas instituciones tanto de México como del extranjero. Se trata de contribuciones entrelazadas del CAS-Tour y del Programa de Visitantes Distinguidos de la IEEE, destinadas a ofrecer información actualizada en campos de investigación activos y de gran interés en el área.
Este Seminario es el resultado de los esfuerzos combinados de la Dirección de Investigación; la Dirección de Formación Académica de INAOE; la Coordinación de Electrónica de INAOE; los capítulos de Circuitos y Sistemas y de Dispositivos Electrónicos de la Sección Puebla de la IEEE; y el CONSORCIO IBEROAMERICANO PARA LA EDUCACIÓN EN CIENCIA Y TECNOLOGÍA (ISTEC).

As part of the activities of the IEEE branch in Puebla at INAOE, the Coordination Electronics Dept. at INAOE has organized the “Third Seminar on Nanoelectronics and Advanced Design 2011″. Its aim is to disseminate the latest advances in nano-electronics and electronic circuit design, offering an exciting discussion forum for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral researchers in Electronic Engineering and related areas.
The seminar program consists of lectures by renowned specialists from various institutions in both Mexico and abroad. These are contributions by CAS-Tour and the IEEE Distinguished Visitors Program, intended to provide updated information on current research fields of great interest in this area.
This event is the result of the combined efforts of the Research Directorate, the Directorate of Academic Development, the Coordination Electronics Dept. at INAOE; Circuits and Systems and Electronic Devices chapters of the Puebla Section of the IEEE; and the IberoAmerican Science and Technology Education Consortium (ISTEC).

GRANA – ISTEC Quality Certification
Delivering Global Solutions for Advancing Accreditation Standards

Committed to improving the quality of its electronics engineering and telecommunications programs, and to creating a culture of continuous improvement, Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja launched the GRANA-ISTEC self evaluation process in July. As of December 24th, they have successfully completed the process and obtained a Certificate of Quality based on a set of internationally-derived standards in accreditation practices.
