1. Establish a regional or national library network of science & Technology libraries

EXPECTATIONS AND SUGGESTED PROCESS:

• Survey the number and capacity of country or region's science and Technology libraries, e.g. collections size, electronic capabilities, links to computer science and engineering departments, and current projects, especially in digital libraries.
• Create a list of potential Digital Library Linkages members, name of library directors, e-mails, etc.
• Send out a call-for-participation and work with ISTEC to create a local event to familiarize potential members with ISTEC and Digital Library Linkages.
• Create a national headquarters.
  Identify a responsible institution
  Propose a name for the regional Digital Library Linkages operations

2. Appoint a national director.

DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS:

• Maintain the membership list
• Liaison with the Digital Library Linkages Director at UNM
• Attend the ISTEC General Assembly
• Propose new activities and arrange local workshops

3. Growing the network and maintaining effectiveness.

• Sent quarterly updates for the ISTEC Newsletter
• Do document delivery training for new members
• Recruit new members
• Add information to the ISTEC Database
• Alert ISTEC of upcoming events in the region in which we can participate
