Scholarships International Test and Evaluation Association Pdf version of announcement Click Here White Sands Chapter March 26, 2001 Subject: Call for Student Papers - International Test and Evaluation Association Workshop The International Test and Evaluation Association (ITEA) is a professional association of government, industry, and academia involved in Test and Evaluation activities. The local Chapter of ITEA is based at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) and will once again host a Modeling and Simulation Workshop from Dec 3-6, 2001 at the Hilton Inn in Las Cruces. This is the seventh year the Chapter has sponsored this workshop. This year’s theme is “Emerging Tools for Testing and Training”. As part of our outreach to the local academic community, the ITEA Chapter will once again be sponsoring a Student Paper competition in conjunction with the Workshop. Though the Workshop is not until later this year, we are sending this information out to the University science departments during the spring semester in an effort to give students more time to work on submitting a paper. The Call for Student Papers flyer is enclosed for distribution and posting within your department. The competition will result in two scholarship awards, one to an undergraduate and one to a graduate student. The student(s) with the best paper(s) pertaining to modeling and simulation will be awarded a $1000 scholarship and will be recognized at a Workshop luncheon. The authors will also be given the opportunity to present their paper at one of the Technical Sessions during the Workshop Students should submit abstracts (half page description of paper) with the Modeling and Simulation theme no later than Oct 5, 2001. Students will be notified by Oct 15 th if their abstract has been accepted and if they are to proceed with writing and submitting Student Papers. Student papers will be due no later than Nov 16, 2001. A selection committee will select the best undergraduate and graduate paper and will notify the students. Again, the winning students will be given the opportunity to present their papers at the Workshop. Abstracts should be submitted via email (preferred), fax, or mail to either:
We also encourage students to attend the Workshop, regardless of whether they submit student papers or not. This is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with professionals in the test and evaluation community. The registration fee for full time students is only $10. Student registration forms will be sent to you later this year. We strongly encourage your students to take advantage of this opportunity.
