{"id":562,"date":"2020-04-23T00:10:34","date_gmt":"2020-04-23T00:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.istec.org\/events\/?p=562"},"modified":"2020-04-23T15:14:09","modified_gmt":"2020-04-23T15:14:09","slug":"webinar-sobre-aprovechamiento-de-la-tecnologia-de-semiconductores-para-beneficio-de-la-sociedad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.istec.org\/events\/2020\/04\/23\/webinar-sobre-aprovechamiento-de-la-tecnologia-de-semiconductores-para-beneficio-de-la-sociedad\/","title":{"rendered":"Webinar sobre aprovechamiento de la tecnolog\u00eda de semiconductores para beneficio de la sociedad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.istec.org\/\">ISTEC<\/a> invita a participar del webinar de <a href=\"https:\/\/sight.ieee.org\/\"><strong>IEEE SIGHT<\/strong><\/a>: \u2018<strong>Aprovechando la Tecnolog\u00eda de Semiconductores para Beneficio de la Sociedad<\/strong>\u2019, presentado por el <strong>Dr. Fernando Guarin<\/strong>, IEEE Fellow y IEEE SIGHT 2020 Education Subcommittee Chair, a realizarse el <strong>24 de abril<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Horarios:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>11 hs \u2013 Argentina<\/li>\n<li>10 hs \u2013 Estados Unidos (ET), Chile y Bolivia<\/li>\n<li>9 hs \u2013 Per\u00fa, Ecuador, Colombia<\/li>\n<li>8 hs \u2013 M\u00e9xico y Centroam\u00e9rica<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La sesi\u00f3n analizar\u00e1 c\u00f3mo los avances en tecnolog\u00eda de semiconductores y dispositivos electr\u00f3nicos est\u00e1n influyendo en la sociedad, permiti\u00e9ndonos usar mejor la energ\u00eda de una manera m\u00e1s sostenible y cambiando nuestra interacci\u00f3n con otras personas cercanas y lejanas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00abDurante el webinar tambi\u00e9n se proveer\u00e1 la informaci\u00f3n necesaria para solicitar fondos para financiar proyectos tecnol\u00f3gicos con alcance humanitario en el 2020\u00bb, inform\u00f3 el Dr. Guar\u00edn.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s, la actividad permitir\u00e1 aprender m\u00e1s sobre c\u00f3mo debemos aprovechar estos avances para aliviar y encontrar soluciones a problemas muy serios que enfrenta el mundo actualmente.<\/p>\n<p>El Dr.<strong> Fernando Guar\u00edn<\/strong> es un miembro distinguido del personal t\u00e9cnico de Global Foundries en East Fishkill New York, donde dirige el equipo de confiabilidad responsable de la calificaci\u00f3n de las tecnolog\u00edas 5G. Se retir\u00f3 del SRDC de IBM despu\u00e9s de 27 a\u00f1os como miembro s\u00e9nior del personal t\u00e9cnico. Obtuvo su BSEE en la \u00abPontificia Universidad Javeriana\u00bb, en Bogot\u00e1, Colombia, el MSEE en la Universidad de Arizona y el Ph.D. en Ingenier\u00eda El\u00e9ctrica de la Universidad de Columbia, Nueva York.<\/p>\n<p>De igual modo, es miembro distinguido del IEEE y profesor distinguido de la IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS), donde ha trabajado en muchas capacidades, incluyendo; miembro de la Junta de Gobernadores de EDS del IEEE, Presidente del Comit\u00e9 de Educaci\u00f3n de EDS y Secretario de EDS.
