{"id":1144,"date":"2021-03-16T16:35:35","date_gmt":"2021-03-16T16:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.istec.org\/istecblog\/?p=1144"},"modified":"2023-05-24T14:32:27","modified_gmt":"2023-05-24T14:32:27","slug":"anderson-school-of-management-at-the-university-of-new-mexico-invites-istec-members-to-participate-in-the-global-scaling-challenge-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.istec.org\/istecblog\/2021\/03\/16\/anderson-school-of-management-at-the-university-of-new-mexico-invites-istec-members-to-participate-in-the-global-scaling-challenge-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico invites ISTEC members to participate in the Global Scaling Challenge 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anderson School of Management<\/strong> at the <strong>University of New Mexico<\/strong> invites universities that are part of the <strong>ISTEC<\/strong> consortium to participate in the <strong>Global Scaling Challenge 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As explained by the members of the organizing committee: Dr. <strong>Raj Mahto<\/strong>, Dr. <strong>Yorgos Marinakis<\/strong> y Dr. <strong>Steven Walsh<\/strong>, the proposal is aimed to mentors and students from universities.<\/p>\n<p>The Challenge is a \u201clive\u201d and \u201creal\u201d case challenge experience for your students where the students present to as many as three firms over three days (April 22<sup>nd<\/sup> &#8211; 24<sup>th<\/sup>) via an internet meeting technique.<\/p>\n<p>More information and application portal: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.innovationunm.com\/\">https:\/\/www.innovationunm.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Challenge offers participating teams and mentors a unique opportunity to The Challenge offers participating teams and mentors a unique opportunity to understand and solve complex scaling needs and challenges of firms operating in a highly diverse environment.<\/p>\n<p>Any team can consist of up to 4 students from any educational level (bachelors, masters, or Ph.D.\u2019s or any mix thereof) mentored by you to compete in our inaugural \u201cGlobal Scaling Challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year three firms that are addressing 21<sup>st<\/sup> century biological challenges have been chosen.<\/p>\n<p>Teams will be provided three types of information two weeks before the start of the competition:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>a video of the firms\u2019 value proposition<\/li>\n<li>Boston Analytics artificial intelligence-based workup focusing on potential firm customers, investors and acquirers<\/li>\n<li>written material provided by the firms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The teams will be required to provide a 10-minute presentation live on the day of the competition to a judging panel and the subject firm.<\/p>\n<p>There will then be a 10-minute question and answer period. All presentations and materials from the teams will be submitted to the Global Scaling Challenge Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The Challenge is a three-round competition focused on three different firms. <span style=\"color: #de3c3c\"><strong>For priority consideration teams should apply before April 7<sup>th<\/sup>.
